Valdor Calls Impact Mount Tests a Success
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 24 -- Valdor Fiber Optics Inc. said that the first preliminary reports on the ARCAP 2.5 mm ferrules indicated that they would pass the Bellcore specification for both the Hermetic and Pull tests. Additional tests are being conducted for temperature cycle and long-term reliability.
Valdor said that, in six to eight weeks, it would receive the first automation station for the Impact Mount technology, which will automatically crimp, impact and cleave a fiber optic laser pigtail sub-assembly at its facilities in Hayward, Calif.
