PORTLAND, Ore., April 27 -- Electro Scientific Industries Inc. has received an order for multiple laser semiconductor processing systems from Samsung Electronics. Delivery will begin during ESI's fourth fiscal quarter, ending May 31. The systems will be shipped to Samsung's Kiheung facility in Korea, where they will be used in the production of advanced DRAM devices. ESI and Samsung have completed the joint evaluation of 300 mm production tools for semiconductor laser link processing.
"I am pleased that Samsung continues to use ESI as the supplier of semiconductor laser link processing tools," said Keith Taft, business unit manager of ESI's semiconductor products. "As device makers move to the complexity of advanced devices, ESI's equipment will be essential for them to meet their production goals."
