ESI Wins $5 Million Order from Samsung

PORTLAND, Ore., May 1 -- Electro Scientific Industries Inc. announced an order for multiple laser semiconductor processing systems from Samsung Electronics. Delivery will begin during ESI's fourth fiscal quarter, ending May 31. The systems will be shipped to Samsung's Kiheung facility in Korea, where they will be used in the production of advanced DRAM devices.
ESI and Samsung have completed the joint evaluation of 300 mm production tools for semiconductor laser link processing. ESI has been selected to supply Samsung's 300 mm production needs.
