Blue Sky to Boost Telecom Component Manufacturing
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 2 -- Blue Sky Research is deploying high volume manufacturing capability for optical telecommunications components through Blue Sky Systems, its Singapore-based subsidiary.
"Having had much technical production experience in East Asia, and particularly Singapore, I am quite enthusiastic about Blue Sky Research's plans for that part of the world," said Al Shugart, chairman of Blue Sky Research. Blue Sky has extensive experience with foundry-based production in Asia and has developed cost-effective processes for electro-optical component and subassembly manufacturing. The company also has established strategic relationships with high-volume diode and chip suppliers.
