Alfalight Gets $10 Million in Financing
VAUDREUIL-DORION, Quebec, May 21 -- Alfalight Inc., a start-up developer of 980-nm pump lasers for the optical communications industry, has secured $10 million to be used for the acquisition of specialized equipment for their plants in Madison, Wisc., and Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC. The funding was led by Silicon Valley Bank, followed by GATX, Third Coast Capital and Transamerica.
Alfalight, which provides specialized high-power laser diode products for the telecommunications industry, has previously raised funding from several venture capital investors, including: Advanced Technology Ventures, InterWest, ARCH Venture Partners, Venture Investors of Wisconsin, EDF Ventures and Centrepoint.
