Responding to market demand,
Lightchip, a provider of intelligent optical transport products, has added 200 GHz spacing and flat passband capabilities to its Versalight optical wavelength router. The OWR is capable of ultra low-loss, bi-directional wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing of disparate network traffic flows on a single fiber.
In order to increase production capacity and accelerate new semiconductor laser development,
Spectra-Physics Semiconductor Lasers (formerly Opto Power Corp.) has just installed an additional metal organic chemical vapor deposition reactor. The company has also taken delivery of a new, high-performance facet coater. This added equipment will enable the company to meet rapidly increasing demand for their product from the pumping, graphics, medical, industrial and telecommunications markets.
