LMG Inc. Enters into Agreement with Boeing

NORCROSS, Ga., June 5 -- Light Management Group Inc. (LMG), developer of new applications in optical and light technologies, announced that it has entered into an agreement with The Boeing Company to evaluate LMG's acousto-optic switches for potential application to Boeing products.
LMG's unique technology employs sound waves to manipulate light waves, thus yielding several distinct advantages over other all-optical technologies, the company said. LMG's acousto-optic switch operates at a speed of less than 5 microseconds, representing a 1000-fold advantage over today's MEMS technology. LMG's switch, which can transform optical signals from one input channel to more than 1000 output channels, contains no moving parts and has performed over one trillion cycles entirely free of maintenance.
"Light Management Group's arrangement with Boeing represents a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of our acousto-optic switch," said Barrington L. Simon, CEO and Chairman of LMG. "We look forward with great anticipation to the validation of our technologies through the scientific findings that will be derived from a company whose scientists and engineers have touched the lives of so many with their technology."
A team from Light Management Group will work in tandem with a team from Boeing Phantom Works in assessing LMG switch applications. Phantom Works is the advanced R&D unit of Boeing that specializes in providing innovative, affordable technology solutions to the commercial, space and military business units of the company.
