Now Optically Clear, UV Curable Adhesive/Sealant Matches The Refractive Index of Glass!

Master Bond Inc. of Hackensack, N.J., has introduced a new single component, high viscosity, optically clear UV curable adhesive called UV15-7LRI which matches the refractive index of glass (1.481). This system cures extremely rapidly at room temperature when exposed to a UV light (e.g.: 5 to 25 seconds depending on intensity of UV light). The cure of this compound can be carried out in the presence of air.

High bond strengths are obtained with glass and ceramics as well as various other substrates including optical plastics. Long term durability of the bond strength is excellent even when exposed to adverse environmental conditions including heat and moisture. UV15-7LRI has a service temperature range of –60 to 250 °F.

UV15-7LRI is a 100% solid system and no solvents or other volatiles are released during the curing process. Storage stability is 6 months in original, unopened containers. Master Bond UV15-7LRI is available in 1/2 pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon containers.
