Clear and Redback Networks Team Up to Deliver End-to-End Optical Management Capabilities to Service Providers
BALTIMORE, July 12 -- Clear announced an agreement with Redback Networks Inc. to jointly offer customers enhanced end-to-end fault, performance and service level management capabilities in multitechnology, multivendor network environments. The agreement gives service providers with Redback technology an efficient way to manage service level agreements, reduce network downtime, increase operations efficiencies, and decrease maintenance costs. The announcement was made at this year's National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC) in Baltimore.
Under the agreement, the companies will jointly offer the integrated solution that consists of the Redback SmartEdge multiservice optical platform, the Redback SMS platform, a subscriber management system and the Clearview product suite. In addition, Clear will integrate with the NetOp management suite to correlate network faults and alarms generated
by the SmartEdge and the SMS platform to identify impacted circuits and customers.
Clear is a global supplier of optical, broadband and digital network management software. Redback Networks is a provider of solutions for next-generation metro broadband and optical networks.
