Fiber Optic Power Meter Module Unveiled by Melles Griot
Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK, July 18 -- Melles Griot introduced an optical power meter module for its line of automated fiber-alignment systems. This modular instrument, with a menu-driven front panel for ease of use, provides high-sensitivity power measurements for free-space and fiber optic beam delivery systems.
The basic power meter consists of a NIST-traceable modular controller and a silicon, germanium, or InGAs detector head. Systems are spectrally calibrated, with data stored in a memory module within the detector head. A range of accessories, including integrating spheres and various connector options, is available.
Power measurements can range from a few hundred pW to 2 W with sampling capability to 16 kHz and a bandwidth to 100 kHz. The system is fully compatible with Melles Griot NanoTrak automated alignment controllers and modular nanopositioning equipment. Measurements can be displayed as average, true rms, peak-to-peak, or peak power, in watts, dBm, or detector current.
