'Eye of the Sea' Lends Fish-Eye View of Seafloor

MONTEREY, Calif., Sept. 24 — Using a new lighted jellyfish lure and a unique camera system, researchers are working to reveal life in the deep sea unaltered by the cacophony of sound and light that have accompanied most past research there. Earlier this month, a team from Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, of Fort Pierce, Fla., used the lure for the first time in the dark depths of California's Monterey Bay.
