Liam Nagle has been promoted to president of Bookham Technologies, in addition to his role as COO. Bookham, a UK-based provider of optical components, modules and subsystems for fiber optic communication networks, also announced it has completed its acquisition of New Focus Inc., a San Jose, Calif., provider of photonics and microwave solutions to nontelecom diversified markets. Winston Fu and Peter Bordui, two directors of New Focus, have joined the board of Bookham as non-executive directors, and Jack Kilby has retired as a director of Bookham.
