Under an exclusive patent license agreement, CorActive High Tech Inc. of Quebec City will commercially manufacture and further develop the US Naval Research Laboratory's mid-IR transmission fiber. The ultralow-loss mid-IR fiber can handle the high laser power density that is required in military, industrial and medical products. Using the laboratory's patented technologies and processes, CorActive provides cable assemblies that can handle more than 1 GW/cm² of pulsed optical power density.
