BILLERICA, Mass., April 6 -- Continuum Photonics Inc., a developer of high-performance optical switches for the optical automation systems and telecommunications markets, announced today it has closed an additional round of more than $17.5 million in its Series C financing. A new investor, JK&B Capital, led the oversubscribed round. New investor Boston Millennia Partners also participated, along with prior investors Prism Venture Partners, Flagship Ventures, Harris & Harris Group, Gainesborough LLC and private individuals.
Al DaValle, a partner with JK&B Capital, has joined Continuum's board of directors.
Continuum recently released the DirectLight IG (instrumentation grade) optical switch, which uses its patented beam-steering technology.
