PARIS, July 23 -- Alcatel announced it is a major supplier of communications equipment for OTE, the Greek telecommunications company that will provide the network infrastructure for the 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to be held next month in Athens. OTE will provide advanced voice, data and multimedia services to local and international users. Beginning August 13, the opening of the Olympics, communications traffic to and from Athens and surrounding areas will significantly increase.
