Polytec Inc. of Tustin, Calif., has announced that the US Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, will implement its three-dimensional scanning vibrometer to measure the vibration characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles and other aerospace and vehicular structures. The instrument enables engineers to perform full vector component analysis on complex structures. Its ability to provide simultaneous measurement using three sensor heads offers noncontact vibration mapping at high spatial resolution for applications in the aerospace, defense and automotive sectors.
