Michael R. Lightner, professor of electrical and computer engineering and computer science at the College of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Colorado at Boulder, was selected 2005 president-elect of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at its annual meeting, held this month in San Antonio, Texas. Lightner will succeed 2005 IEEE President W. Cleon Anderson, chief project engineer at L-3 Communication Systems-West in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ralph W.
