Michigan Aerospace Wins NASA Contract

An optical products and engineering company, Michigan Aerospace Corp. of Ann Arbor, has received a two-year, $600,000 contract from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., to develop a digital controller and a lightweight version of an optical component for its wind measurement instruments. The components are intrinsic to the company's lidar technology, which enables accurate wind and atmospheric measurements in clear air from the ground or from air- or spacecraft. The technology can enhance the accuracy of long-term weather forecasts if flown from a satellite-based platform.Read full article
