Corning Says Modest Growth Expected

CORNING, N.Y., March 9 -- Eric S. Musser, vice president and general manager of Corning Optical Fiber, said he expects modest growth in the market for 2005, during Corning's 24th annual optical fiber briefing yesterday at OFC/NFOEC 2005, being held this week in Ahaheim, Calif. "Although Japan is expected to decline slightly relative to 2004, this decrease will more than likely be offset by strength in North America and modest growth in other regions of the world," Muller said.     liquid crystal display
    An alphanumeric display formed by a layer of liquid crystal material sandwiched between two sheets of glass; a transparent conductive coating on the glass is etched to form the character segments. An applied voltage causes the appropriate segments to darken as the molecules in the liquid crystal change their arrangement.
