KVH Industries Inc., of Middletown, R.I., announced it has received a $1.5 million order from Recon/Optical Inc., an aerial reconnaissance corporation and a provider of tactical reconnaissance cameras, for KVH's DSP-3000 fiber optic gyro (FOG) systems, to be used in the US Army's common remotely operated weapon stations (CROWS). CROWS systems are made by Recon/Optical and Electro Optic Systems Pty. Ltd., an Australia laser technology developer, in conjunction with the Army.
