The Light Brigade announced that it has expanded its DVD Fundamentals of Fiber Optics: A Primer on Optical Fibers to include single- and multimode dispersion chapters. The second revision of the videodisc includes new animations and content to reflect the changes in measuring and defining bandwidth for laser-optimized multimode fibers. Part of the “Staff Development” series, the resource covers major fiber types, along with their structure, history and applications. Peer-reviewed during scripting and production phases, it incorporates graphics and video clips detailing how the fibers are manufactured, tested and installed. The DVD is available for $200.

A disc whose surface contains recorded digital data at high-packing densities arranged in concentric rings. The data, representing video frames, are both recorded and read by a laser beam.
