INTERFEROMETERS
The spring 2005 issue of “Precision News,” an online newsletter from Taylor Hobson Holding plc, announces the addition of four instruments to the company’s range of Talysurf coherent correlation interferometers for noncontact metrology. It includes articles on the Talyrond XL roundness systems for measurement on large-diameter components and on the portable Surtronic Duo and Surtronic 25 models for measuring the surface roughness of the inside of pharmaceutical and food-processing vessels. A tutorial on stylus selection for surface finish measurement discusses the effects of angle and tip radius and includes a diagram showing the path of a stylus over a surface. The measurement of microfluidic devices also is discussed in the publication, which is downloadable from the company’s Web site.
