Kodak to Cut 15,000 More Jobs

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 20 -- Eastman Kodak Co. announced today it plans to cut as many as 10,000 more jobs worldwide and to reduce manufacturing to approximately $1 billion, compared with $2.9 billion in January 2004. It said the unexpected reductions are needed to cope with faster-than-expected declines in sales of consumer film and other traditional photographic products. The company had previously targeted up to 15,000 job cuts by 2007 when it announced in January 2004 a restructuring to facilitate its transition from film to digital photography.
