University of Rochester Receives Research Grant

The University of Rochester’s Center for Electronic Imaging Systems in New York has received $1 million from the New York State Office of Technology and Academic Research to develop ways of shrinking computer circuits to the nanoelectronics scale. As transistors are reduced in scale from microns to nanometers, operating speeds increase. Such advances would affect computers, game devices, home entertainment systems and communications devices.
