Omron Division Purchases Aduro

Omron Corp., based in Kyoto, Japan, has acquired Aduro Inc., a manufacturer of high-speed optical subassemblies. Omron’s electronic components unit in Schaumburg, Ill., assumed the assets of the Pleasanton, Calif., company and established the subsidiary Omron Network Products LLC, retaining the company’s team.
With the acquisition, Omron will strengthen its position as an optical component supplier of coarse wavelength division multiplexing products, including transmit and receive optical subassemblies for the 10 Gigabit Ethernet and high-definition video markets. The financial resources gained from the purchase will allow Omron to gear up for the emerging LX4 transceiver market.
