In Finland, a $1.8 million contract to develop high-power laser diode bars has been awarded to Modulight Inc. of Tampere by the Technology Development Centre, known as Tekes, in Helsinki. The laser diode bars, which will be used for solid-state pumping, will be delivered by the end of the year.
