Umicore Expands IR Glass Capabilities

L-3 Communications Corp.’s Infrared Products Div. of Dallas will sell intellectual property, equipment and materials associated with chalcogenide infrared optical glass and lenses production capabilities to Umicore of Brussels, Belgium. The latter, a supplier of glass materials and lenses for IR imaging applications, will expand its chalcogenide IR glass materials and fabrication processes. The Texas company will focus on developing and producing uncooled thermal imaging products for the public safety, fire and rescue, security, transportation and industrial markets.Read full article
