UCLT Changes Name to Pixer Technology

UCLT Ltd. of Karmiel, Israel, a provider of laser-based yield-enhancement tools for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, has been renamed Pixer Technology Ltd., the company announced yesterday. Hagay Sitry, company president and CEO, said, "'Pixer' is a combination of 'Pixel' and 'laser'. These two elements symbolize the two key basics of the company's core technology." Pixer uses femtolaser technology to insert optical elements into clear media such as quartz to enable photomask and wafer critical dimension control. The company's new Web site is www.pixertech.com; the old url www.uclt.com is still active. Pixer also announced that Gideon Gottlieb has joined the company as director of marketing. Gottlieb most recently served as a product unit head for Mask CD-SEM at Applied Materials Israel and in other marketing and product managerial positions in mask- and wafer-related products.

photomask
A photomask, also known simply as a mask or reticle, is a key component in the photolithography process used in semiconductor manufacturing and other areas of microfabrication. It is a high-precision plate or glass substrate that carries a pattern of opaque and transparent regions. Photomasks are crucial for transferring intricate patterns onto semiconductor wafers during the photolithography process. The photomask is typically placed in the optical path between a light source and a...
pixel
A pixel, short for "picture element," is the smallest controllable element of a digital image or display. It is a fundamental unit that represents a single point in a raster image, which is a grid of pixels arranged in rows and columns. Each pixel contains information about the color and brightness of a specific point in the image. Some points about pixels include: Color and intensity: In a colored image, each pixel typically consists of three color channels: red, green, and blue (RGB). The...
