PSI-TEC to Collocate with N.J. Company

PSI-TEC Corp., a subsidiary of PSI-TEC Holdings Inc., has entered into a collocation agreement with a New Jersey-based micro-optics company, securing a fabrication plant for its product commercialization operations. The arrangement enables the Wilmington, Del., company to establish a preproduction line to test and integrate organic materials into waveguide devices and system prototypes. It also provides access to facilities capable of producing commercial quantities of devices such as 40-GHz telecommunications modulators and optical filters and interconnects.

An optical element that blocks or transmits a selected wavelength of light. Optical filters can either be absorption filters or interference filters. Absorption filters absorb any unwanted wavelengths while the interference filter will use the effects of constructive and destructive superposition to transmit only the selected wavelength.
