Semrock_Catalog.gifA manufacturer of optical filters for the biotechnology and analytical instrumentation markets, Semrock Inc. has issued its 2006-2007 catalog. The 48-page full-color publication presents filters for applications including Raman instrumentation, biomedical laser systems, and fluorescence instrumentation and microscopy. Among the new products highlighted are single- and multiband bandpass filters, and single-, dual- and triple-edge diochroic beamsplitters. The MaxDiode laser diode cleanup filters, the StopLine single- and multinotch laser line types, and the BrightLine Clinical fluorescence variety are included. Technical notes are provided.


GLOSSARY
optical filters
An optical element that blocks or transmits a selected wavelength of light. Optical filters can either be absorption filters or interference filters. Absorption filters absorb any unwanted wavelengths while the interference filter will use the effects of constructive and destructive superposition to transmit only the selected wavelength.
