Fastest Molecules Ever Boost Optical Technologies

PULLMAN, Wash., Jan. 3, 2007 -- The Internet could soon shift into overdrive thanks to a new generation of optical molecules developed and tested by an international team of researchers. The new materials, organic molecules known as chromophores, interact 50 percent more strongly with light than any molecules ever tested.     astronomy
    The scientific observation of celestial radiation that has reached the vicinity of Earth, and the interpretation of these observations to determine the characteristics of the extraterrestrial bodies and phenomena that have emitted the radiation.
