Cambridge Technology Inc. announced that it relocated in January to a larger site in nearby Lexington. The new facility has twice as much space for manufacturing and development of its closed-loop, galvanometer-based optical scanning components and related products, it said. Cambridge Technology's products are used in applications such as laser marking, engraving, drilling, machining and treating; ophthalmology, DNA sequencing and confocal microscopy; and laser entertainment and projection. Its new address is 25 Hartwell Ave., Lexington MA, 02421; phone: (781) 541-1600; fax: (781) 541-1601.

The technology of generating and harnessing light and other forms of radiant energy whose quantum unit is the photon. The science includes light emission, transmission, deflection, amplification and detection by optical components and instruments, lasers and other light sources, fiber optics, electro-optical instrumentation, related hardware and electronics, and sophisticated systems. The range of applications of photonics extends from energy generation to detection to communications and...
