OlympusPoster.jpgThe 52 × 75-cm poster titled “Spectra of Fluorescent Dyes” is designed to help researchers who use fluorescence microscopy to find the appropriate dye and filter combinations for their experiments. Available from Olympus Life and Material Science Europa GmbH, the reference tool helps them navigate the various fluorescent dyes, addressing considerations such as finding two or more dyes with nonoverlapping spectra for performing multilabel studies. It presents selected absorption and emission spectra for the major dyes: Alexa, cyanine, xanthene, indole and fluorescent proteins.

fluorescence microscopy
Observation of samples using excitation produced fluorescence. A sample is placed within the excitation laser and the plane of observation is scanned. Emitted photons from the sample are filtered by a long pass dichroic optic and are detected and recorded for digital image reproduction.
