Opnext Names Gilles Bouchard COO

Opnext Inc. of Eatontown, N.J., a maker of laser diodes for telecommunications, defense, medical and automotive applications, announced that Gilles Bouchard, former executive vice president of global operations for Hewlett Packard (HP), has been appointed chief operating officer, effective Nov. 1. Bouchard served in various senior management positions during his more than 17 years with HP, including the dual role of chief information officer and executive vice president of operations. Prior to joining HP, he worked at IBM.
