Ron Martin Named CMSO at Adva Optical Networking
Ron Martin was named chief marketing and strategy officer (CMSO) and president of Adva Optical Networking's North American subsidiaries, effective Nov. 15, the company announced this week. Martin will succeed Brian McCann, who was the founding president of Adva Optical Networking NA in 1996 and has been an officer of the company since 2000. McCann will remain with the company as senior vice president of corporate marketing and strategy. Martin was formerly with Cisco Systems, where he spent five years in various roles, including vice president and general manager of the worldwide optical business and of service provider development. Recently, he was part of a team that led the integration of the Scientific Atlanta sales and marketing organizations. Previously, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Fujitsu Network Communications. Adva is based in Munich, Germnany, and in Mahwah, N.J.
