LIGHTING STANDARDS
The Department of Energy has added “Solid State Lighting Standards” to its “LED Measurement” series of technology data sheets. The downloadable two-page document lists key performance and safety standards applicable to LED-based lighting products. Standards listed include the American National Standards Institute’s “Harmonic Emission Limits — Related Power Quality Requirements for Lighting,” the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America’s “IESNA Technical Memorandum on Light Emitting Diode (LED) Sources and Systems” and Underwriters Laboratories Inc.’s “Light-Emitting (LED) Light Sources for Use in Lighting Products,” which is being developed.
Reference publications from the International Commission on Illumination also are listed.
