Big Sky Laser Technologies Changes Name to Quantel USA

Solid-state laser maker Big Sky Laser Technologies Inc. of Bozeman, Mont., announced it is changing its name to Quantel USA Inc. Big Sky Laser was founded in 1982 and has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Quantel since 1998. The company said it will continue to manufacture its Big Sky Laser product line and will also work to increase sales of Quantel's industrial and scientific product lines in the US. Those products include Brilliant brand high-power laser diode arrays and YLIA (ytterbium lasers for industrial applications). The Quantel group includes Quantel Medical and Quantel Laser Diodes and is based in Les Ulis, France.
