A strategic alliance between medical-laser manufacturer Laserscope of San Jose, Calif., and Medical Alliance Inc. of Irving, Texas, will focus on marketing Laserscope's Aura laser system for the office-based treatment of vascular lesions. Medical Alliance agrees to buy $1 million worth of Aura lasers for markets that it serves, making it the exclusive fee-for-service provider of the systems in the US. Laserscope will collect a percentage of the per-use equipment fees charged to doctors and patients.
