Intel Sells Optical Assets

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., April 10, 2008 -- Emcore Corp., a maker of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite and terrestrial solar power markets, announced it will acquire the enterprise and storage assets of Intel's optical platform division and its Connects Cables business, for 3.7 million shares of stock.
