Part of the department’s “LED Application” series, the four-page downloadable document discusses LED features, including compact size, breakage resistance, and the virtual absence of IR and UV emissions. Capabilities such as directional light emission, cold-temperature operation, instant-on with no warm-up, rapid cycling, and controllability/tunability also are covered. Comparisons are made with incandescent, fluorescent and high-intensity discharge lighting. Applications include undercabinet, refrigerator and outdoor area lighting.
