Nomir Medical Technologies Inc. of Waltham, Mass., a medical device company, has announced the initiation of the product registration trial for its Noveon direct optical energy device. The objective is to gain FDA approval for using the product in treating patients with onychomycosis. The company received 501(k) clearance in November 2007 to use the device during surgical procedures of the skin, subcutaneous tissues and nasal passages.
