A supplier of optical filters for biotechnology and analytical instrumentation, Semrock, a Unit of Idex Corp., has launched an updated Web site that offers improved navigation and enhanced graphing of optical filter spectra. Visitors to the site now can use the Find-a-Filter tool to search by function, application, laser wavelength, part number or fluorescent label to locate the appropriate optical filter for their requirements. The portal includes a full listing of Semrock brand name products.


GLOSSARY
optical filters
An optical element that blocks or transmits a selected wavelength of light. Optical filters can either be absorption filters or interference filters. Absorption filters absorb any unwanted wavelengths while the interference filter will use the effects of constructive and destructive superposition to transmit only the selected wavelength.
