Health Canada has granted AFP Imaging Corp. of Elmsford, N.Y., a medical device license to market the NewTom VG 3-D cone beam CT scanner in Canada. The device provides 3-D radiography images while allowing for a variety of patient positions, including seated or standing.

The company also has been given a Technology Impact Award by Polytechnic University’s Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications of Brooklyn, N.Y., for the company’s role in commercializing the university’s EVA line of digital sensors for low-radiation dental x-rays.
