The National Center for Genome Resources in Santa Fe, N.M., and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, have announced the opening of the New Mexico Genome Sequencing Center in Santa Fe. Using genome analyzer systems from Illumina Inc. of San Diego, the new center can sequence 400 million bases per day, equivalent to the entire human genome every two months.
