Designed for advanced undergraduates and graduate students who will become end users of digital image processing, the 459-page book Digital Image Processing for Medical Applications covers the basics of the major clinical imaging techniques with an emphasis on how the images are produced and acquired. It presents the standard image processing operations and explains when and why particular ones are selected. Practical computer-based activities show how these operations affect real images. Geoff Dougherty; Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, 2009; $89.Read full article
