Photron Donates Camera to MIT

Photron Inc., a high-speed imaging systems and image analysis software manufacturer based in San Diego, is donating a video system to the Edgerton Center at MIT for long-term use by students and researchers. The center was named for MIT’s professor Harold E. “Doc” Edgerton, known for his innovations in high-speed imaging and support for hands-on learning. Photron’s Fastcam SA5 camera provides up to 7500 frames per second (fps) at megapixel resolution (1024 × 1000); it is capable of delivering more than 1 million fps at reduced resolution. The stand-alone, one-piece imaging system has a 12-bit...Read full article
