ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 5, 2010 — Pittcon 2010 will offer the latest advances in laboratory instrumentation, solutions for research problems, new methodologies and techniques for improved productivity, and a wide range of educational opportunities when it takes place Feb. 28-March 5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

The West building of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando at night...

Co-sponsored by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, Pittcon is the leading showcase for scientific and technical innovation. Thousands of conferees from around the world visit Pittcon each year to evaluate new products and technologies, make purchase decisions, and build valuable business connections. Experts in analytical chemistry and the life sciences will showcase newest scientific innovations, novel applications and improved techniques.

...and during the day.

Pittcon offers a comprehensive and well-balanced menu of invited symposia, workshops, organized sessions by industry professionals, new product forums and also contributes oral and poster seminars to the world's latest developments in the traditional and emerging disciplines of analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy.

"In 2009, we implemented several new "green" procedures throughout the event. In an effort to increase these green initiatives, this is the first year that registration badges will not be mailed, but will be available on site for pick up in the Registration Booth in the OCCC, West Building," said Pittcon 2010 Registration Chairman Susan Zawacky. "Our registration company, ITN International, will also be providing recycling bins where conferees can deposit their badges at the end of the conference."

Special events being held at Pittcon 2010 include: a 50 Trillion Angstrom Fun Run and Walk, Lunch and Learn sessions Monday through Thursday of conference week (The cost for each session is $250), and complimentary mixers on the exposition floor on Tuesday and Thursday (A Sunday mixer takes place immediately following the plenary lecture).
