NORTHVALE, NJ, Feb. 25, 2010 – MRC Optics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Photonics Products Group Inc. (PPGI), has been awarded firm-fixed price contracts for precision optical components from Lockheed Martin’s Missile and Fire Control Business Unit in Orlando, Fla.

The components are high precision aluminum, beryllium and beryllium alloy optical mirrors for Lot 6 production requirements on the Arrowhead electro-optical system. This is the sixth consecutive award to MRC Optics for Arrowhead aluminum mirrors since 2002 and the second consecutive award for the beryllium and beryllium alloy mirrors.

Beryllium and beryllium structures are manufactured complete at PPGI’s own facility in Sarasota, Fla. The facility offers state-of-the-art manufacturing of optical components and sub-assemblies used in a wide variety of applications including thermal imaging and night vision, satellite surveillance systems, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering, fire control/target acquisition and missile systems, as well as large plano optics, beryllium optics, polygon scanners and their refurbishment.

“Our customers know that we understand the importance of what we produce, and it is how we have been able to continue our successful relationship with companies such as Lockheed Martin for many years,” said John Ryan, VP of sales and marketing for PPGI.
