Laser Light Controls X-Rays

BERKELEY, Calif., March 29, 2010 — By changing the material medium through which x-rays pass, scientists are using laser light to control x-ray beams. The team of scientists was led by Thornton E. Glover of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Advanced Light Source (ALS), and included Linda Young of Argonne National Laboratory and Ali Belkacem of Berkeley Lab's Chemical Sciences Division.
