Applied Spectral Imaging of Vista, Calif., a comprehensive imaging solutions provider for pathology and cytogenetics, was chosen by the European Union to be one of nine industry and academic groups to form the Lupas consortium. Lupas seeks to develop smart imaging molecular tools for combating neurodegenerative diseases. The company will help to identify and characterize amyloids that form the accumulation of plaques and proteins in the brain, typically associated with Alzheimer’s patients.
